→ How AI Can (Actually) Improve Your Life with Dan Shipper

Greetings!

It's been a hot minute since I sent one of these. Lots of life has happened in the past few months...

✈️ Relocation ~ it turns out that we weren't destined to live in Costa Rica in the long term (but we're glad we ran the experiment) so earlier this year we relocated back to Santa Cruz, California (loving it so far)

👶 New Life Chapter ~ on March 9, Kelly and I welcomed our daughter, Eliana into the world (more to come exploring what we've been learning on the parenthood adventure)

👨‍🎨 New Projects ~ we've been cooking up some exciting projects: fresh podcast episodes, long-form essays, workshops and nervous system tools to share in the coming weeks.

Stay curious out there,

~ Jonny

p.s. take a moment to hit reply and write a sentence to share what's been going on in your world lately.

How AI Can Improve Your Life with Dan Shipper

Dan returns to the Inner Frontier podcast (listen to Part I here) for a deep dive on the topic of the moment, artificial intelligence.

We explore the human side of AI: why producing good work still requires taste, how coordinating agents can fry your attention, and why automation counterintuitively creates more work for humans.

"Never make any major life decisions within 30 days of a meditation retreat, a psychedelic experience, or your first encounter with a frontier model.”

– Dan Shipper, CEO at Every

In this episode, you can expect to learn:

  • Why Dan believes AI can deepen human craft (rather than erode it).
  • The surprising story of how photography was initially adopted.
  • Why knowledge work is more like way-finding than navigating city streets.
  • Why curiosity, playfulness and the ability to tolerate uncertainty matter in the AI era.
  • How AI makes yesterday's frozen competence cheap for everyone.
  • And many more hot takes.

// FOOD FOR THOUGHT Welcome to the first edition of a new experiment... a meta-experiment, if you will. Introducing The Sunday Experiment, our new regular newsletter format. Each Sunday, you'll receive a note from me, an experiment to run that day or throughout the week, and a few curated resources I've picked up along the way.
