Tackling the Mental Health Crisis using Ketamine-Assisted Therapy with Dylan Beynon

Dylan is the founder of the ketamine-assisted therapy startupMindbloom. He shares what they’ve learned so far from running nearly 703,000 guided ketamine sessions and how he’s been dealing with a recent Wall Street Journal hit piece attempting to discredit his company. I also shared some of my own recent experiences with ketamine assisted somatic journeys and the impact that it’s had on my own life.

"I lost my mum & sister... but ketamine-assisted therapy saved my dad's life."

In this conversation, you can expect to learn:

  • How 703,000+ ketamine sessions revealed what actually drives healing — their data on why music selection, journaling timing, and the 2-5 minute onset of injectable ketamine dramatically impact outcomes versus clinical IV settings
  • The hidden war between Big Pharma and psychedelic medicine — how Johnson & Johnson created an 88x more expensive version of ketamine, and why Mindbloom is suing the Wall Street Journal for defamation
  • Why "super well-being", not just "not sick" should be medicine's goal — the shift from disease management to human flourishing, and how psychedelics can unlock 100x improvements in life quality most people don't realize are possible
  • The real reason IV ketamine is considered "gold standard" (and why it shouldn't be) — how anesthesiologists accidentally created inferior protocols, why injectable beats IV for therapeutic use

[free workshop] The Subtle Art of Unclenching

Yes, I know it sounds strange, but it turns out that the majority of human suffering (anxiety, self-criticism, procrastination, emotional outbursts, etc.) is a result of subtle clenching patterns in the body.

I'm aware that this is a bold claim, but it is one that experienced meditators have known for over two thousand years, and unfortunately, the mainstream conversation typically focuses on 'mindfulness' and 'being present,' which is something entirely different (and less helpful in my opinion).

There are a couple of reasons why it's hard to learn how to unclench—firstly, because there's no objective or measurable feedback, and secondly because unclenching—like sleep—isn't something that we 'do' (in fact, trying to force it makes it worse) but rather it's something that we create the appropriate conditions for.

In this workshop, we'll explore:

  • What we mean by "foundational wellbeing" and "unclenching", and why we believe it's the bedrock of human thriving.
  • How nervous system literacy opens the door to resilience, connection, and emotional depth.
  • The power of creating more space between stimulus and response, to reduce our reactions and experience more choice.
  • Practical, science-backed tools to regulate your nervous system and feel safer, calmer, and more alive.

3-2-1 Orienting

A sensory grounding exercise to reduce overwhelm and anxiety by engaging with your environment through sight, touch, and breath.

Why: Coming back into your body through the senses can reduce overwhelm, anxious thoughts, and mild disassociation. "Begin by feeling into the lower parts of your body, particularly your legs, feet, and contact points. Feel grounded in your environment.

How: Acknowledge three things that you can see or hear. Feel two things with either your hands or feet. Take one deep breath in and let out a sigh.

Tip: A key principle for returning to a calm, grounded presence is to focus on your sensory experience. This is a great practice to share with children or young adults who are feeling anxious or overwhelmed.

// PARTING WORDS

“The more you know yourself, the more clarity there is. Self‑knowledge has no end—you don't come to an achievement, you don’t come to a conclusion. It is an endless river.”

// INNER FRONTIER HQ Welcome to The Inner Frontier: Edition #1 7 years ago, I hit publish on the first Curious Humans Newsletter, and today — hundreds of issues and 72 podcast episodes later — the project comes to a close. The Curious Humans project was born from my obsession with the question of why, as kids, most of us were immensely curious, what was it that suppressed this as we grew older, and how might we go about reclaiming this as adults. It's hard to overstate how much I learnt and...

NOTE FROM JONNY — Hello Curious Human 👋 I'm writing this update from the redwoods of NorCal, where Kelly and I are taking a moment to catch our breath after a whirlwind few weeks on the road... (From exploring consciousness research at Edge Esmeralda, visiting the UK and doing a podcast tour in Austin, to preparing for our upcoming breathwork retreat, and soon relocating our family to Costa Rica... phew!) I'm also stoked to share a project (see below), teaming up with Holstee, whose ethos...
